Mystery Quilt - Margie Smith
Be daring, making your next quilt, sight unseen. You will be given fabric requirements, preliminary cutting and sewing steps. But you won’t know the pattern or the final appearance until you are finished. I know you will like it but you just won’t know what you are making until the final step. “Mystery Snack” will be provided in class, and what could be more fun than sewing and eating with friends.

Have you ever wanted to learn to sew?? Well now is the time!! We will learn the fundamentals of sewing like how to read and use a pattern, why it’s important to add the notches, etc. In this 3 part series you will make a pair of pj bottoms. We will be using a Kwik Sew pattern and Nancy Ziemans’ Sewing with Confidence ( we have them at the store). The class id limited to 5 students so you can have individual attention. See this traditional Japanese stitching technique demonstrated in 4 different ways: by hand, by sewing machine (using 2 different techniques) and by the new machine dedicated to Sashiko stitching. Samples of each method will be shown and ideas will be presented for how to incorporate Sashiko stitching into your repertoire of sewing projects. This is a lecture/demo class; no supplies needed.
